A couple of months ago I had the privilege to be selected to join the 2011 Alternative Leavers Week. Having spent two weeks in Cambodia during my final year at high school on a similar trip, I leaped at the opportunity to be a part of such a unique experience. I think the alternative leavers week is a great chance for young Australians to put things into perspective. I found in year 12 I got swept up in the craziness of study, exams, social stuff... my trip to Cambodia allowed me to look at things from a wider angle. I'm really looking forward to sharing my time in East Timor with the year 12's, exposing myself to another culture and spending time doing volunteer work.
I'd just like to say thank you to Emma and Terry for introducing me to the trip and allowing me to be a part of it!
